Easter Message from Vilnius – the City of Mercy

Video message of Archbihop of Vilnius Gintaras Grušas:

Easter greetings to all! I’m the Archbishop of Vilnius, speaking to you from the capital city of Lithuania also known as the city of Divine Mercy. Here in Vilnius, the Original Image of Divine Mercy, according to the revelations given to St. Faustina and under her direction, were painted. And in the Shrine of Divine Mercy next Sunday – Divine Mercy Sunday –  we will be offering Mass in English praying for Divine Mercy upon us and the entire world. 85 years ago, here in Vilnius, this Image was first exposed for public veneration although, at that time, few people knew of its miraculous origins.
Today we are called to pray in a more fervent way for Divine Mercy in this time of the pandemic that is putting strains upon the whole world. So many people today are in need of God’s mercy. And so many of us need to renew our faith and trust in Jesus. That is why I invite all of you to join me for the celebration of the Holy Mass on Divine Mercy Sunday from the Shrine of Divine Mercy here in Vilnius at 5 p.m. local time, which will be morning in the United States of Divine Mercy Sunday. Let us together, before the Image of Divine Mercy, implore God’s mercy upon us and on the entire world in this time of the pandemic and so much need throughout the world.
Please, join me this Sunday for the Holy Mass on EWTN.
