The Beatification Ceremony of Archbishop and Martyr Teofilius Matulionis in Vilnius

The beatification ceremony of archbishop and martyr Teofilius Matulionis will be held in the Cathedral Square in Vilnius at 2 p.m. on 25 June 2017. We kindly invite groups to register and come not only from inside but from outside Lithuania, too.

On the eve of the beatification, Vilnius Cathedral will be open for prayer for the whole night. Sectors in the Cathedral Square will open at 10 a.m.; the event will begin at 12 a.m. The solemn Holy Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. The ceremony will be conducted by Cardinal Angelo Amato, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. After the Mass, the faithful will be allowed to pray personally, asking for favours, in front of the sarcophagus with Archbishop Teofilius’ relics until 11 p.m.

YOU ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BEATIFICATION

Registration:

  • Foreign groups of the faithful are invited to register online until 15 May 2017. For further information, coordinators of registered groups will be contacted by the organisers.
  • Priests from foreign countries who are willing to concelebrate the beatification Mass are invited to register online until 15 May 2017. For further information, each registered priest will be contacted by the organizers.

No registration is needed for people who travel in their own vehicles and individuals who are not joining groups.
